So, Everyscan… my students actually showed me this one. They use it for all sorts of things I don't even understand, but I figured out it's pretty handy for identifying things. You can take a picture of, say, a leaf, or upload one you already have, and it'll try to tell you what it is. It's surprisingly intuitive once you get the hang of it. I use it mostly for plants, since the kids are always bringing in leaves they find outside. It's like having a teaching assistant in your pocket, only this one knows botany. Why do they hide the settings button there, though? Honestly, it's made my life a little easier, especially when I'm trying to prep for the science club. Beats lugging around a bunch of field guides, that's for sure. Plus, it's kinda fun to see what random stuff it can identify. Who knew technology could be this useful…sometimes.
