What's a good iPhone app for an old dog like me to actually, you know, *learn* some new vocabulary words without feeling like I'm back in freshman English?

So, my students, bless their hearts, showed me this app called Vocabulary - Learn words daily. Took me a few days to figure out all the features, I won't lie – why do they hide the settings button there? But once you get the hang of it, it's surprisingly useful. I've been trying to expand my own vocabulary, especially when grading essays, and this app is actually helping. It's like having a teaching assistant in your pocket, constantly reminding you of new words and their meanings. It even gives you examples, which is crucial. I can see myself using some of these words in class, maybe even sneak them into a pop quiz or two! Seriously though, it's a great way to keep the old brain sharp, and even I, a man who still prefers a good chalkboard, can appreciate that.
