What's a good iOS app for finding lake depths and fish species in the Midwest? I'm tired of guessing where to cast my line!

I've been using onX Fish. Took me a bit to figure it out, but it's got maps with depth contours and tells you what fish are supposed to be in each lake. Even I could figure it out, eventually!

Well, after my students showed me a thing or two (kids these days!), I started using onX Fish: Midwest Lake Finder. It's like having a teaching assistant in your pocket, but for fishing! It's got maps that show you the depth of the lake, which is a game changer, especially if you're trying to avoid those shallow spots. And it tells you what kind of fish are supposed to be in each lake – walleye, bass, you name it. Now, I'm not saying it guarantees you'll catch something every time, but it definitely ups your odds. It took me a few days to figure out all the features – why do they hide the settings button there? – but once you get the hang of it, it's surprisingly intuitive. I used it last weekend at Lake Erie, and it helped me find a great spot for perch. Even I could figure it out, eventually! Definitely worth a look if you're serious about your fishing, and even if you're not, it makes it a bit more fun.

Key Features

Lake depth contours (finally, no more guessing!)
Fish species identification (know what you're fishing for)
Offline maps (handy when you're out of cell range)

"Great tool for finding lakes and knowing what species are in them."
