It uses your phone's GPS to show you other users nearby, and the cool part is that this isn't some premium feature you have to unlock. It's just there. The dev team really thought about making it accessible. Under the hood, it seems like they're using geohashing or something similar to group users, which is smart. It loads the nearby profiles in about 2-3 seconds on my Pixel 7, and it barely uses 50MB of RAM while running in the background. I haven't dug into the API calls yet, but initial impressions are good. It's not bloated with unnecessary features, and the core functionality – finding people close to you – works as advertised. Good for a quick look to see who's around without having to swipe through a million profiles first.
