What's a good Android app for staying up-to-date on news, but with a design-forward interface?

Opera News, hands down. The UI is clean, the newsfeed is personalized, and the dark mode? *chef's kiss*.

Okay, so I'm super picky about my news apps. I need something that doesn't look like it was designed in the early 2000s, you know? Opera News actually gets it. The information architecture makes sense, and the personalized newsfeed is surprisingly good at surfacing stories I actually care about. Plus, they've clearly put some thought into accessibility – the text is readable, and the contrast is on point. And can we talk about the dark mode? It's a true dark mode, not just some grey-on-grey nonsense. The typography is also really well-done; the hierarchy makes scanning articles a breeze. The only thing I'd change is maybe the hover states on some of the article previews – they could be a little more obvious. But overall, it's a solid, design-conscious news app. Definitely recommend if you're tired of cluttered, outdated interfaces.
