What's a good Android app for planning hikes, especially if I'm going somewhere with spotty cell service?

I've found Gaia GPS to be really helpful. You can download maps beforehand, which is great for peace of mind when you're off the grid. It feels mindfully designed for outdoor adventures.

I appreciate Gaia GPS because it allows you to download maps for offline use. This is especially important for me, as it respects my need to disconnect while still feeling secure knowing I can navigate safely. The ability to record hikes on trails, even those not on standard maps, feels like a thoughtful approach to exploring. I find it encourages healthy usage patterns by allowing me to fully immerse myself in nature without the constant worry of losing connection. It's perfect for those moments when you want to wind-down in nature and be present, and it helps track patterns without being invasive. Plus, knowing it doesn't sell your data to Facebook is a big plus for me.
