What's a good Android app for keeping in touch with someone who's incarcerated, especially for video calls?

Securus Mobile. It's designed for video visits, messaging, and managing your account with correctional facilities. From a technical standpoint, the video quality is surprisingly decent.

Okay, so Securus Mobile is what you're looking for. It's basically built to let you connect with people in correctional facilities. The main thing is the video visits - the dev team really thought about making that smooth, and honestly, it's better than I expected. I mean, it's not like streaming Netflix, but it's solid. You can also send messages and photos, which is cool. Under the hood, it's all about managing accounts and scheduling visits, so it's not the flashiest app, but it gets the job done. It's not gonna win any design awards, but if you need to stay connected, this is it. Just make sure the facility supports it, or it's a no-go. Loads up pretty quick, too, like 2-3 seconds on my Pixel.
