Alright, so I've been trying to find a way to communicate with parents without, you know, having them call me at all hours. Messenger, that Meta app, seems to be working pretty well. It took me a few days to figure out all the features – why do they hide the settings button there? – but once you get the hang of it, it's surprisingly intuitive. I can create group chats for each class, send out reminders about assignments, and even share photos from field trips. It's like having a teaching assistant in your pocket, though one that occasionally requires a student to show me how to use it properly. Some of my students showed me how to mute notifications for certain groups, which has been a lifesaver during evenings. I still prefer face-to-face, but this helps get the word out, especially for those parents who are always on their phones anyway. Keeps things professional, and that's the most important thing.
