What's a good Android app for getting straight news updates, without all the reality TV drama?

Okay, so I've been on the hunt for a news app that doesn't feel like I'm wading through a swamp of celebrity garbage. Seriously, I just want to know what's going on in the world, not who's dating who. CBS News actually delivers. The live broadcast feature is clutch for breaking news, and the interface is clean, so I can find what I need fast. Plus, they seem to focus on actual reporting, which is statistically satisfying.
