Alright, so I was down in Phoenix last month, framing a new build, and my usual carrier was gonna charge me an arm and a leg for data. A buddy told me about Airalo. It's an app that uses eSIMs – basically, digital SIM cards. You download the app, find a data plan for the country or region you're in, and buy it right there. Then, you activate it, and boom, you're online. No need to find a local SIM card or deal with swapping them out, which is a pain when you're on a job site. The app itself is pretty straightforward, even though the tutorial's kinda useless. But once you figure it out, it gets the job done. Battery life seems okay, about the same as when I'm using my regular data. And the connection was solid enough for sending blueprints and Facetiming the wife. It's no BS, actually rugged enough for what I need.
Key Features
Buy and activate eSIM data plans without swapping physical SIMs
Avoid roaming charges when traveling for work
Easy to use even with work gloves on
"Easy to use, cheap and great coverage. I travel a lot and this is a great solution."
