Look, I don't need bells and whistles. I need to know if it's gonna rain on my head while I'm up on a roof. Weather Mate – Local Weather, it's called. It's actually rugged; survived a drop off a ladder already. The interface is simple enough, even with gloves on. The tutorial's useless, but once you figure it out, it's solid. It gives me the basic forecast, temperature, wind speed – all the stuff I need to plan my day. And the best part? It seems to hold onto the data even when my cell signal craps out, which is crucial when I'm working outside of Denver. Battery life seems okay so far, but I'm keeping an eye on it. If it drains my battery too fast, it's getting the boot. But for now, it gets the job done. Rain doesn't stop it, and neither does a weak signal. That's what I need.
