Okay, so I've been checking out Hickey, and from a technical standpoint, the profile setup is designed to showcase more than just looks. They really push you to fill out your interests and personality stuff. The matching algorithm seems to take that into account, which is cool. I've noticed the conversations I've had feel a bit more substantial than on other apps β less of that awkward small talk. Plus, they've got some profile verification stuff going on under the hood, which helps weed out the bots and fake accounts. The dev team really thought about making it less superficial, and it shows. Loads pretty quick too, about 2 seconds on my Pixel. Barely uses 60MB of RAM, so it's not a total resource hog either. No spaghetti code situations here, hopefully!
