A powerful tool for Verizon Fios and 5G Home Internet subscribers seeking centralized home network management. This app delivers robust parental controls, real-time network monitoring, and smart home integration. Perfect for households wanting granular control over their connected devices and internet performance.

Detailed Review

The Verizon Home app serves as a centralized dashboard for customers using Verizon's home internet and digital voice services. Positioned as a utility for modern connected households, it aims to simplify what has traditionally required logging into complex router admin panels. The app consolidates network management, smart home controls, and account services into a single mobile interface, reflecting a broader industry trend toward consumer-friendly network tools. Core functionality centers around real-time network oversight. Users can view all connected devices, run speed tests, and manage Wi-Fi settings like SSID and password changes directly from their phone. Parental controls are particularly detailed, allowing for the creation of user profiles, scheduled internet access pauses, and content filtering. The app also integrates with Fios TV, enabling remote DVR management and channel changing, which proves useful for users who frequently misplace their physical remote. For smart home enthusiasts, there is basic integration for compatible devices, though this is not its primary strength. In daily use, the app provides clear value for troubleshooting and quick adjustments. A common scenario involves identifying an unknown device on the network and pausing its access with a single tap. The guest Wi-Fi feature is frequently used when visitors arrive, allowing hosts to generate a temporary password without revealing the main network credentials. However, navigation can feel slightly cluttered when accessing deeper settings, and some advanced features still require a web browser login for full configuration, creating a minor disjointed experience. User feedback, while limited, indicates general satisfaction with the core feature set. Many appreciate the ability to pause the internet for specific devices during dinner or homework hours. Some reviews mention occasional connectivity delays when the app attempts to communicate with the home gateway, requiring a refresh. The device identification system receives praise for its accuracy in naming common products like game consoles and smart TVs, though it sometimes struggles with more obscure IoT gadgets. Overall, the Verizon Home app succeeds as a practical management tool for subscribers invested in the Verizon ecosystem. Its strengths in parental controls and device management make it a worthwhile download for most households. The main limitation is its vendor lock-in; it offers no utility for non-Verizon customers. While not the most polished utility app on the market, it reliably handles its primary functions with enough depth to satisfy most users' network administration needs.

Verizon keeps telling me that I am living in Tucson, Arizona I have live in Camp Verde for six years And because there computer says Tucson they slow my service by 50%. There is no cable service available for I live in Camp. My bill runs over $400. 00 a month so and I have been a customer for over 10 years. And when I called them on the phone to try to straighten it out, I spent four hours of my weekend talking to people that don’t know or he can’t fix it and then the very last person I talk to decides to go ahead and send me another one and the next time they’re updated on software I have to go through the whole thing again so no, I’m not happy as a longtime customer you would think that the years that they have their service if they would try to do something for me . all they would have to do is ping my phone, my watch and the other equipment I have and find out exactly where I live. wouldn’t you think so?
