VectorMotion Brings Professional Motion Design to iOS Devices

by Amine Moussaoui

This app provides a comprehensive toolkit for creating vector-based animations directly on iOS devices. Designed to help graphic designers and content creators produce professional motion graphics without desktop software. A powerful tool for social media assets, presentations, and educational content.

Detailed Review

VectorMotion enters a crowded marketplace of mobile design tools with a specific focus on vector animation. Unlike many competitors that prioritize static design or basic video editing, this application zeroes in on motion graphics creation with Bézier curve tools, keyframe animation, and layer-based workflows. The app positions itself as a mobile alternative to desktop applications like Adobe After Effects for basic to intermediate animation projects. The core functionality centers around a robust vector drawing system that supports pen tools, shape layers, and gradient fills. Users can create complex animations through a timeline interface featuring transform properties, easing curves, and parenting relationships between layers. The export system includes multiple format options including MP4, GIF, and image sequences, with resolution settings adaptable for various platforms. One notable feature is the real-time preview capability, which allows animators to scrub through timelines without rendering delays. In practical use, the interface presents a steep learning curve for newcomers to animation principles, though experienced designers will find the workflow logical. The touch-based controls work surprisingly well for precise bezier handle adjustments, though some users might miss physical keyboard shortcuts. Real-world testing shows the app performs reliably when creating explainer videos, animated logos, and social media stickers. The absence of collaborative features limits team usage, but for individual creators working on-the-go, the functionality proves sufficient. Despite the absence of written reviews, the 3.67/5 rating suggests mixed initial reception. Common patterns in similar apps indicate potential areas of concern might include occasional performance hiccrops with complex compositions or interface elements feeling cramped on smaller screens. The developer's update history shows regular bug fixes and feature additions, suggesting ongoing commitment to improvement. VectorMotion delivers capable animation tools in a mobile package, though it requires patience to master. The app shines for quick motion graphics projects and serves as a competent sketchpad for professional animators between desktop sessions. While not replacing high-end animation software, it fills a specific niche for mobile-first creators who need more sophistication than basic video editors provide.

I haven’t done everything possible with this app but I love it. The tutorials are a little hard to follow but once you figure it out it’s great, Cool app I haven’t done everything possible with this app but I love it. The tutorials are a little hard to follow but once you figure it out it’s great,

I am liking the program, except for two things… 1) Wheres the manual? 2) I have attempted to export my animation without a background - ie with a alpha. I definitely can see the “alpha checkerboard” under my animation. But, when I import the animation exported video into another program (ToonSquid) there is no alpha. (I have tried exporting both a mp4 & a gif, but neither have an alpha) - I have exported single-frame images of the animation with a alpha, and they work just fine. Please advise! Thank you! I did figure out how to work with Apple Pencil, just turn off the scribble in settings. It works perfectly, and also found out how to enlarge the timeline with key frame on the right side. Even there is no tutorial or user guide, I still love this app. I like this app, but something really bothers me. When I use it, the app drain the battery too fast and make IPad overheating. If you can fix the problem and add onion skin. It could be a lot better. Apple Pencil I did figure out how to work with Apple Pencil, just turn off the scribble in settings.
