I have used this app for over three years. It is extremely helpful in mapping and identifying no fly zones and wind conditions up to 400 feet as well as precipitation conditions by time. It also identifies satellite availability for gps. There is a charge for higher wind elevations and more complete information that I don’t need. I love(d) this app and used it as my first check for conditions before flying. I went to use it yesterday and saw that what it was showing did NOT match the conditions. Then I noticed in small text that it said “Preview” and wondered when that happened and what it meant - did I now have to pay? Fortunately I also have AirData and was able to check the situation on there. I definitely would give the app 5 stars but had to dock it one for suddenly going to subscription. [Update]: I decided to try out the app at the Hobbyist level, and I have found it to be quite useful so I’m raising my rating to 4 stars. I’m still not wild about the removal of the free functionality that was originally available but, as a professional UAV pilot, I have come to rely on the app for checking flight conditions before traveling to a work site so it’s only fair to update the review to reflect my positive experiences with it. [Original review]: I installed this app at the recommendation of a UAV class in which I am enrolled, only to find that it has been made utterly useless unless you pay for even the most basic functionality. This looks like it could be a very useful app and I am all for supporting developers of high quality apps but I have to agree with the other reviewers that it is very bad practice to remove functionality that was previously free. It appears that this app has been downgraded at least twice in its lifetime until now the free version has no functionality whatsoever and simply displays a useless forecast for a random location. I agree with a few others and their reviews. This app was very nice until greed stepped in and makes you try and subscribe. Not me. I don’t mind paying for a good app. But refuse to subscribe.
