I grew up reading my mom‘s copies of The New Yorker. Before I could actually understand most I always loved the fiction and reading the comics. I would look forward to every new issue and as I got older, I started reading things that I was curious about and it was the first magazine that opened my eyes to the world. More so than Cosmo or other girly magazines that had sex and boyfriend quizzes that I wasn’t taking because when I was 16 I didn’t have many boyfriends. Bravo New Yorker for a brilliant 100 years! I’ve tried to cancel after my free trial but if you try, the app will glitch and not allow you to go to the screen. I’ve contacted their support and they still have not cancelled my subscription. 6/2025: Please note actual changes, fixes, or enhancements in each update note. And please give us the option to disable auto play videos! I despise them. 1/21/2021: First, there is no question that the New Yorker’s content is excellent. My issues are technical ones with the app. Specifically, I wish there was a option to disable auto play of videos. Second, when I minimize the app and then go back in, the story I’m reading refreshes itself and takes about 10 seconds to return me back to my place on the page, which is annoying. This app allows me to efficiently navigate the rich magazine. I especially enjoy being able to save articles I’ve read, access the crossword and audio features easily, and access the archive.
