There is something sort of miraculous about the ability to track the international space station as it travels from the western horizon over to some other horizon and then disappears. The idea that a object made by men and women could be large enough and reflect enough light to be seen in neighborhoods and oceans and deserts around the world. I find it strangely rewarding to wake up in the middle of the night and to wait for the space station to show up, predictably, and fly across some odd path as it arcs upward and then disappears over the horizon. it’s a magical experience. Everyone should experience it. Track the ISS!
