I’ve used Spotify for over a decade. I prefer this 10000x over. Actual editorial recommendations and writeups (which are incredible.) I feel like I’m actually growing a more sophisticated sonic palette again. The app itself really encourages you to listen to the record and appreciate the artist, vs mindless playlists where you don’t even know what’s playing. They pay artists more. And it sounds unbelievably better than Spotify. You hear exactly what the artist heard in the studio. I’m so happy to have heard about this. I’m telling everyone about it. I’m not quite sure what I was expecting, but Qobuz blows Spotify out of the water when it comes to sound quality, especially with headphones. I’ve been listening to it for about a week now, and it does seem that you’re in the recording studio with the artists. The app is easy to navigate…pretty intuitive. I’ve come across very few tracks that were not available, and I love the playlists. The only thing it lacks, in my mind, is displaying lyrics, which I do miss. Hopefully this will be corrected. Soon. I’ve read reviews noting how Qobuz is error-free in its stream and this sounds right when I compare the same recording across other sources. It may also help that my Denon receiver, that I use primarily as a preamp, features Qobuz streaming.
