Pearson+ provides college students with digital textbook access and supplemental learning tools through bite-sized video explanations and audiobook functionality. The app serves as a mobile extension of Pearson's educational ecosystem for course materials.

Detailed Review

Pearson+ represents Pearson Education's mobile-first approach to digital learning, positioning itself as a comprehensive study companion for higher education students. The iOS application serves as an access point for Pearson's extensive eTextbook catalog while integrating supplemental learning resources designed to enhance comprehension of complex academic material. The application's core functionality centers on providing full access to Pearson's digital textbook library with embedded multimedia assets. Beyond basic e-text reading capabilities, the platform distinguishes itself through curated video explanations that break down challenging concepts into digestible segments. The audiobook conversion feature allows for textbook content consumption in audio format, providing accessibility options and alternative learning modalities. Users can maintain synchronization between mobile and web platforms using unified login credentials. Navigation follows conventional e-reader patterns with textbook organization, bookmarking, and search functionality. The interface maintains a clean, academic-focused design that prioritizes content accessibility over decorative elements. Real-world usage patterns indicate students primarily utilize the app for on-the-go studying, supplemental learning between classes, and audio-based review sessions during commutes or other mobile scenarios. User feedback consistently highlights the audiobook functionality as particularly valuable, with Hope3pm (June 23, 2025) noting it 'helped shorten the time to digest and review textbook material' for non-native English speakers. EMTWANNABE1 (July 21, 2025) praised the EMT preparation materials specifically. While Zliudr (July 9, 2025) acknowledged 'small bugs in the audiobook feature,' the overall sentiment remains positive regarding Pearson's transition from traditional publishing to digital educational tools. The application demonstrates significant strengths in content depth and multimodal learning approaches but faces limitations typical of publisher-specific platforms. The value proposition depends heavily on institutional adoption of Pearson materials, creating a niche but dedicated user base. Ideal implementation occurs within courses already utilizing Pearson's ecosystem, where the mobile app serves as a supplementary rather than primary learning tool.

I’m a student and work full time. The features on the app allows me to listen to my text books or listen and read the text book for knowledge and exams. I hope they open opportunities to people who want to teach as well on the app. I believe it is a great community. Keep it guys. Great I’m a student and work full time. Professor Jessica Bernards does a great job at breaking down each chapter. Pearson+ is great for me working full time with other obligations and being a part time student because I can literally catch a math lesson and do a quick assignment almost anywhere w reception. This is so structured and open for multiple ways of learning/ intelligence. As a college study I wished ever class had this type of access to learning! This is how education should be taught and available! I’ve traded my scrolling on instagram to studying any hours of the day whenever I want. It should be kept a secret! Spread the word and make this app the most powerful and accessible platform for education!! Best study guild ever! This is so structured and open for multiple ways of learning/ intelligence. There are small bugs in the audiobook feature but overall it is pretty good. You would expect similar features from kindle app etc that are catering to the e-reader users. So when I see this from a traditional textbook publisher, that’s a welcome change.
