Update: Still the best Reddit client out there, but you can safely ignore all of the critical reviews complaining about the cost. It’s not the developer pocketing it, it’s Reddit being greedy. The introduced cost by Reddit is what killed Apollo, but idiots will criticize this app because they don’t know any better. After Apollo came Narwhal 2, and we all said it was good. If you’re not on Narwhal, you don’t know what you’re missing out on. Download it, try it, and never go back. 1000x better than the official Reddit app. Yes, there’s a sub, but that’s because Reddit started charging for API access. Sub to this app instead of paying for Reddit premium.. thank me later. I was an Apollo user for years. While the switch to Narwhal took some getting used to, after about a week I felt strongly that it was a more efficient way to browse Reddit. One of the things that made Apollo so great was that the developer was constantly making updates and listening to users. Narwhal has been impressively just as focused on making improvements and perhaps even better at listening to users. With all of the subscription services out there for different things these days, I get that people are opposed to adding yet another one, but this one is so worth it. I’d sooner cancel any of my other subscriptions to keep Narwhal. Honestly Amazing I was an Apollo user for years. Switched from Apollo. I think the subscription is worth the price. The dev seems responsive and continually improving it. Worth it Switched from Apollo. I think the subscription is worth the price. The dev seems responsive and continually improving it.
Just like anything it takes a bit to get used to especially because of how customizable it is. But it’s one of the best apps for Reddit for sure. The cost is worth and I’ve been using it for years despite Reddit forcing the dev to add a fee to keep it alive.
