Update! After years of frustration with this app, they finally got it right! What I found out though was that I didn’t see the new improvements until I deleted the app and reinstalled it. Now the app recognizes my iPhone larger text setting. I don’t know when the update was made, but since this app gives me the most route options I’m glad I didn’t give up on it.
