I never leave reviews. Like, ever. Yet somehow the MTA has built a randomly perfect application. This thing is fast, responsive, pretty and above all intuitive. It does everything you expect it to. Whoever made this needs to make more stuff for the MTA. What a rare bird. Out of nowhere, an amazing MTA app I never leave reviews. Like, ever. Used the app for the first time while riding Metro North for a day trip to NYC during a weekend trip to Westchester. App was flawless for pulling up schedules from multiple stations near White Plains (on both Harlem and Hudson lines) simultaneously, so I could choose a station and train based on my estimated departure time without having to pore over the PDF schedules. Purchasing tickets in the app was incredibly easy and straightforward, including Apple Pay as a payment option. So much easier than tapping 20 buttons on a machine at the station. Generating a scannable code for the train was a snap. Locating my train in GCT for the return trip was easier than searching the train board. I didn’t get the opportunity to use it for the subway or buses, but if maps, schedules, service interruptions, and realtime status for the subways and buses are as comprehensive as Metro North, it is probably indispensable for interborough commuting. Really well done app. Really great app Used the app for the first time while riding Metro North for a day trip to NYC during a weekend trip to Westchester. Great app. Wish the MTA app was this sleek and polished for a native iOS experience. Polished Great app. Wish the MTA app was this sleek and polished for a native iOS experience.
You normally expect apps made by municipalities to be kind of garbage but TrainTime is so consistently easy to use that it’s almost shocking! So much better than it has any right to be! It’s a train app, it’s not exactly flashy. However since using it I’ve never encounter any UI or tickets errors. It does what it does incredibly well Smooth and clean experience It’s a train app, it’s not exactly flashy. However since using it I’ve never encounter any UI or tickets errors.
