If you live in the Houston area and need accurate, up-to-the-minute weather updates, this app delivers. It’s packed with radar maps, severe weather alerts, and hourly forecasts tailored specifically for Southeast Texas. Perfect for planning your day around those unpredictable Gulf Coast conditions.

My Full Experience

I’ve been using the KPRC 2 Weather app for over a year now, and it’s become my go-to for checking conditions here in Houston. The radar feature is seriously detailed—you can track rain bands moving through Harris County or see exactly when a storm might hit your neighborhood. I rely on it during hurricane season; the push notifications for severe weather warnings have given me a heads-up more than once. The 10-day forecast layout did recently change to a horizontal scroll, which takes some getting used to, and I wish the menu tabs were a bit larger for easier tapping. But overall, the information is reliable and hyperlocal, which matters when afternoon thunderstorms pop up out of nowhere. It’s especially handy for parents checking if soccer practice will be rained out or commuters planning around rush-hour downpours. The app integrates data from KPRC’s own meteorologists, so you’re not just getting generic forecasts—it feels personalized for our region.

Worst update ever. New style and design is useless. Has a razor thin bar to select what should/used to be in a menu. You can barely select what you want. The 10 day forecast is now horizontal so it doesn’t even fit in the screen. The whole update is just dumb and useless. Hate it!! Worst update ever. New style and design is useless.
