Getcontact provides caller identification and spam blocking services for iOS users. The app crowdsources phone number data to identify unknown callers and block fraudulent attempts, positioning itself as a defense against unwanted communications.

Detailed Review

Getcontact operates as a caller identification and spam protection service that leverages community-sourced data to identify unknown numbers and block fraudulent calls. Developed by GETVERIFY LDA, the application claims to block approximately three billion unauthorized calls or fraud attempts annually, positioning itself as a significant player in the telecommunications security market. The service functions by cross-referencing incoming calls against its database of user-contributed information, providing real-time identification even for numbers not saved in a user's personal contacts. The core functionality centers on two primary features: caller identification for unknown numbers and automated spam blocking. When receiving calls from numbers not in the device's contact list, the application displays identifying information gathered from its user network. The blocking system automatically filters numbers reported as spam by other users, with the platform continuously updating its database based on community feedback. Premium subscribers gain access to additional features including enhanced search capabilities and more detailed caller information. User experience varies significantly based on network effects and subscription status. The interface presents a clean, minimalist design with clear call screening notifications during incoming calls. However, functionality diminishes when searching numbers not registered within Getcontact's ecosystem, often prompting users to invite non-users to join the platform. Real-world usage patterns indicate the app performs most effectively in regions with high user penetration, where the crowdsourced database contains substantial local number information. User feedback reveals polarized experiences, with many praising the spam protection while others express concerns about functionality limitations. Reviewer 'the transformer god' (August 3, 2025) noted 'Probably one of the best apps for scam calls yet,' highlighting effective fraud prevention. Conversely, 'Ab Ana' (August 22, 2025) reported feeling 'misled about how the app works,' particularly regarding number searches for non-users resulting in invitation prompts rather than information. These contrasting experiences suggest performance varies based on geographical user density and individual expectations. The application demonstrates strongest performance in spam prevention and community-based caller identification, particularly valuable for frequent call receivers and privacy-conscious users. Limitations include reduced effectiveness in areas with low user adoption and functionality constraints for non-premium users. The service appears most suitable for urban professionals receiving numerous unknown calls, while those seeking comprehensive number intelligence without network dependencies may find the experience inconsistent. Privacy considerations regarding crowd-sourced contact information remain an ongoing discussion point within the telecommunications security sector.

Lies! You can’t see what someone is saved under. I intentionally gave it five stars so this would be shown first. Lies! Lies! You can’t see what someone is saved under. I intentionally gave it five stars so this would be shown first.

I highly recommend this feature for individuals not having a phone number, so instead. I recommended icloud.com numbers for Apple users. :) Recommended Feature I highly recommend this feature for individuals not having a phone number, so instead. I feel misled about how the app works . When i search for a number that isnt a GETCONTACT user, im asked to invite them to download the app , which feels like im a marketer for you not a "Premium" subscriber! And when i search for a number that i know for a fact isnt a user of the get contact app a bunch of tags appear. This is Misleading and confusing. "GETCONTACT" is a name of an app. Not "an Imperative mood" Hi I feel misled about how the app works .
