Detailed Review

Family Tree! - Logic Puzzles by Lion Studios Plus presents a unique twist on traditional logic games by focusing exclusively on relationship deduction puzzles. The app occupies a specialized niche within the brain training market, distinguishing itself through its singular focus on familial connections and hierarchical structures rather than offering multiple puzzle types. The core gameplay involves analyzing textual clues to determine relationships between characters and place them correctly within family trees. Players must deduce connections such as parent-child relationships, marriages, and extended family ties using limited information. The game progressively introduces complexity through additional characters, occupations, and social contexts including office environments and dinner parties that expand the relational dynamics beyond blood relations. Interface design employs a clean, minimalist approach with drag-and-drop functionality for character placement. The visual presentation uses distinct character avatars with occupational cues, though these visual indicators sometimes lack clarity according to user feedback. The puzzle mechanics require careful reading comprehension and logical deduction, with an undo feature allowing players to revise placements as they work through complex relational chains. User reviews indicate generally positive reception with some consistent criticisms. Multiple users, including Laura09718 (July 7, 2025), note particular difficulty with office and dinner party scenarios where clues provide insufficient placement guidance. Dee momma (August 10, 2025) observes disconnects between character descriptions and visual representations, noting that occupational clues sometimes contradict avatar appearances. Cirfish (July 25, 2025) highlights language issues with gender pronouns and relationship terminology that occasionally create additional solving challenges beyond the intended logical difficulty. The app demonstrates strengths in providing genuine cognitive challenge through its deduction-based puzzles, effectively training logical reasoning and pattern recognition skills. However, limitations appear in inconsistent clue quality, occasional localization issues, and visual-design inconsistencies that can create unnecessary friction in the solving process. The experience works best for players who enjoy textual analysis and relational logic problems, though those seeking more varied puzzle types may find the singular focus limiting.

This game is one of my most recent discoveries. I find myself daydreaming of playing this game while I’m working. My only complaint is on the levels of the office, or the dinner, the clues give absolutely no hint as to where these characters are supposed to be put. I enjoy the family tree option much more than the dinner or office as I end up losing those rounds more times than the regular levels due to lack of context in the clues. Please add some context in those levels rather than just putting “best friends sit next to each other” or “Kenneth watches over his workers shoulder” Great game but needs some work This game is one of my most recent discoveries. I like the game a lot. The clues and the way the graph works at times don’t make sense. It really annoys me when describing a character as an engineer or a director but the images don’t help to know which character is an engineer or a director. I can guess the hacker which looks like a soldier from the Squid Games show with a laptop other than that it’s a guessing game, which leads me into watching ads to gain more turns. It is clear this is written by non-native English speakers. Often he/she are mixed up and niece/nephew are not correct. Other clues are weirdly written and It makes it harder to complete the puzzles. Hard is not always a good thing. Good but… It is clear this is written by non-native English speakers. Often he/she are mixed up and niece/nephew are not correct.
