Detailed Review

Everand, developed by digital library service Scribd, operates as a comprehensive reading subscription platform providing access to millions of audiobooks, ebooks, and podcasts. Positioned as a competitive alternative to services like Audible, the app offers cross-device synchronization and offline access starting at $11.99 per month, featuring content from major publishers including New York Times bestsellers across diverse categories from true crime to celebrity-narrated memoirs. The core functionality centers around a credit-based system where users receive monthly 'unlocks' for premium titles while maintaining unlimited access to the broader catalog. The iOS application features intuitive library organization, personalized recommendations, and seamless switching between reading and listening modes. Notable technical capabilities include adjustable playback speeds for audiobooks, customizable reading interfaces for ebooks, and automatic progress synchronization across devices, making it suitable for users who consume content across multiple platforms throughout their day. User experience demonstrates generally smooth navigation with a clean, minimalist interface that prioritizes content discovery. The app performs reliably during real-world usage scenarios such as commuting, with offline downloading functioning as advertised. However, some users report occasional technical glitches related to subscription management and credit refreshes. The reading experience proves particularly valuable for professionals and students who require access to reference materials across devices without carrying physical books. User feedback analysis reveals consistent praise for the value proposition compared to competitors, with reviewer kell1526 (2025-07-31) noting '3 audiobooks for the price of 1 on Audible.' However, multiple reviews including LRen85 (2025-08-23) express frustration with the unlock system limiting monthly consumption of premium titles. Technical issues surface in reviews such as Mart5337 (2025-06-23) reporting upgrade problems and Quititallreadyplease467 (2025-07-25) noting delayed credit refreshes despite successful billing. The platform's primary strength lies in its extensive catalog and cross-format accessibility, though the unlock system presents limitations for power users. The service proves most valuable for moderate readers who consume 2-3 books monthly and appreciate access to supplementary podcasts and sheet music. While technical reliability generally meets expectations, subscription management issues and credit system restrictions represent areas for improvement to compete effectively in the crowded digital reading market.

My only complaint is that there isn’t a way to purchase more credits once yours are used. Really great My only complaint is that there isn’t a way to purchase more credits once yours are used.

I listen to three audiobooks each month. The choice of books are very good. Definitely a good value for the monthly subscription price. Good reads I listen to three audiobooks each month. The choice of books are very good. Definitely a good value for the monthly subscription price.

I don’t know what’s going on with this app, but it’s always crashing and my current book will revert back to the beginning. I’ve lost so much of a story trying to find where I was in it. I also can’t express enough how greedy you all have been I’ve since you first launched this app. It was so much different and you could listen to unlimited books slowly it changed to only allowing a couple , using the algorithm a reader would listen to and block those titles. Now, it’s just like audible but at least with them you actually own the premium titles even after u no longer have the subscription. It’s making it harder for me to justify keeping the service.
