NetEase's Destiny: Rising brings the acclaimed sci-fi franchise to mobile with dual perspective combat, character-based abilities, and future Earth defense narrative. Targets core shooter enthusiasts seeking console-quality mobile FPS experiences.

Detailed Review

Destiny: Rising represents NetEase Interactive Entertainment's ambitious mobile adaptation of the popular sci-fi shooter franchise, marking the series' debut on iOS platforms. The game positions itself as a premium mobile shooter experience, offering both first-person and third-person combat perspectives while maintaining the franchise's signature sci-fi aesthetic and narrative-driven gameplay. This adaptation attempts to translate console-quality shooting mechanics to touchscreen devices while introducing new gameplay elements specifically designed for mobile audiences. The core gameplay revolves around character-based combat systems where players select from unique operatives, each possessing distinctive abilities and combat specialties. The dual perspective system allows players to switch between traditional first-person shooting and over-the-shoulder third-person combat, providing flexibility in engagement styles. Mission structures include both narrative-driven campaigns and competitive multiplayer modes, featuring environments ranging from futuristic urban landscapes to extraterrestrial terrains. Weapon customization and progression systems appear comprehensive, with various upgrade paths for firearms, armor, and character abilities. User interface design demonstrates thoughtful adaptation for mobile platforms, with customizable control schemes supporting both touchscreen gestures and external controller compatibility. Performance analysis shows stable frame rates on supported devices, though graphical fidelity adjusts dynamically based on hardware capabilities. Real-world usage patterns indicate session lengths typically ranging from 15-45 minutes, with mission structures designed for both quick engagements and extended play sessions. The control scheme offers extensive customization options, addressing common mobile shooter precision concerns through adjustable sensitivity and layout configurations. As a newly launched title, user feedback remains limited during the evaluation period. Early adopters have reported generally positive initial impressions regarding visual fidelity and combat mechanics, though comprehensive assessment requires broader player base engagement and longer-term performance data. The absence of established review patterns necessitates continued monitoring of stability issues, monetization implementation, and post-launch content updates to provide definitive user experience evaluation. The game demonstrates notable strengths in visual presentation and combat system flexibility, successfully translating franchise hallmarks to mobile platforms. However, limitations may emerge in comparative content depth relative to established franchise entries and potential hardware requirements for optimal performance. Ideal use cases involve shooter enthusiasts seeking narrative-driven mobile experiences with console-inspired mechanics, particularly those valuing perspective flexibility and character progression systems.

Key Features

  • Dual perspective combat system allowing seamless switching between first-person and third-person views during gameplay, providing tactical flexibility in different combat scenarios

Take the best parts of Shadowgun Hunters, add in the living world of Genshin Impact, throw in the good parts of Black Desert Mobile, and somehow you’ll come up with Destiny Rising. The controls are awesome. The various playing styles are fun and interesting. And there is SO much to do! My only complaint is the facial animations when characters speak in cutscenes. OMG…”uncanny valley” doesn’t even begin to describe how creepy it is. Seriously, though, this is the only part of the game that isn’t perfect. Five stars! Completely love this game! The game is a great new game that has the same feel as destiny does. They need to work on characters and access to them. Also they need to let all characters use all guns Not the same The game is a great new game that has the same feel as destiny does. They need to work on characters and access to them.
