First off, hats off guys. You managed to develop a game that is entertaining & engaging. It truly is something special, & I hope to see this game for years to come… However, we have a huge, HUGE problem. & I really hope, that for the sake of this game & my love for it, it will be fixed. Hopefully, much sooner than later. I understand that mobile-games survive & thrive by the use of micro-transactions. I also understand that, at the end of the day, it’s a game for us, but it’s a business for you. With that being said though, I find that this games “Pay To Win” model is a huge problem for the regular, run-of-the-mill gamer who isn’t going to dive head first into this game with their wallets wide open for the taking. To only cater to those who spend money is frankly, a failing system. Because although you need people to spend, you also need those who are “Free To Play” to actually be able to play & somewhat, compete. If you’re planning on downloading this game, & plan to be a free to play player, you basically have no chance in competing. & here’s why. This game drops a Mythic Champion (a very powerful & useful character) every few weeks. In order to obtain this character, you need to use what the game calls shards in “The Bleed”. To get these shards you can either spend real money, or use gems. Some times, they have these events where they offer the shards, but mostly, it’s through the first two means I mentioned. There’s the store where you can purchase these shards. You can get 10 shards for $5.00 USD, & they also give you 300 gems with the $5 purchase (60 gems for every $1). Once you purchase that $5.00 pack, it goes up to $10.00 USD. Once you purchase that pack, it goes up to $20.00 USD. Then to $50.00 USD, & probably $100.00 USD. I haven’t gotten past seeing the $50 pack, so I’m not sure, & don’t plan on seeing what comes after the $50 & $100 pack. If you want to purchase the gems alone, they give you 2X the amount. So for 60 gems it’s $0.99 cents USD but you get an extra 60. So 120 total if you just buy the gems. But if say, you purchase what they call “The Mother Box’s Favor” pack, you get 300 gems & whatever it offers (which isn’t anything special). There’s also a store where you can spend the gems to buy certain items like the shards. This store refreshes every 8 hours. At 12pm, 8pm, & 4am, every day. In this store, you can purchase 3 shards (yes, just 3) for 323 gems, & another shard for 60. So 383 gems for 4 shards. That’s 12 shards, minimum, every day if you manage to get to the store in time. Some times, the store will offer more shards for sale, but that’s rare. Now, it takes 50 tries to attempt to get the exclusive Mythic Champion. However, it’s not guaranteed that you will get that Mythic Champion you’re aiming for, although it is guaranteed that you’ll get something Mythic by the end of those 50 tries. Some times, you’ll get lucky & get something Mythic before you go through 50 tries. You might get what they call a legacy piece, of which there are 12 Mythic Legacy Pieces or any other Mythic Champion that’s already in-game, of which, they have 22 Mythic Champions. If you get any of these Mythic Champions or Mythic Legacy Pieces, it resets back to 50. If you had 3 tries left to obtain the Mythic Champ or Mythic Legacy Piece, & use 10 shards, it will reset back to 43 instead. Now, that wouldn’t be such an issue in my eyes if it wasn’t so difficult & expensive to get these gems & shards. By purchasing the 4 shards, every 8 hours, it will take you a little more than 4 days to obtain 50 shards. At 383 gems for 4 shards, it’s going to cost roughly 4,787 gems to get those 50 shards. At first, I was getting the Mythic Champion I was aiming for pretty easily. Now? It takes about 150 tries before I get that champion. Again, wouldn’t be such an issue if the game would at least give you ways of getting these gems by just playing the game, but that’s not the case. I can’t say how many gems you get a day. When you first start off, you’ll get a bunch of them. But then you’ll reach a point where if you get 100 gems a day, it will be a good day. This game leaves no room for you to get the 1,149 gems you’ll need just to purchase the 12 shards a day. So basically, you need to spend real money to be able to sustain getting the 12 shards a day. In my opinion, that is incredibly predatory. Specially towards younger gamers who might want a chance to compete, but can’t because they don’t have the wallets to do so. I always wondered why they call it “The Bleed”. Let’s just say, I’m not wondering anymore lol. Now let’s talk upgrading these Mythic Champions. Every champion takes 10 Champion Shards to unlock. For the Mythic Champion in “The Bleed”, you unlock him/ her by pulling them. However, you get no extra champion shards for it, just the champion. Every time you upgrade the champion, it will gain a star upgrade that will unlock certain abilities. For the first star, it’s just two shards. The 2nd star, it’s three shards. The 3rd star, it’s five shards. The 4th star, it’s ten shards. 5th star, it’s twenty shards. The stars go from white to blue to signify their upgrade level. For the blue stars, the upgrades continue at 20 shards per star till the 4th star. To unlock this 4th & 5th blue star, you need 30 shards per star. To unlock the first purple star, you need 40 shards. I’m not too sure how many shards you need to upgrade to gold star, & how many is required to upgrade the gold stars, & then to upgrade the gold stars to red, but once you reach the red stars, it take 80 shards per star. In “The Bleed”, if you unlock any of the 22 regular Mythic or Legendary Champions you’ll get 10 shards. If you manage to get the exclusive Mythic Champion, you’ll get 40 shards. If you got my issue with “The Bleed” & its system, then you’ll get why this is a problem as well. I have wayyyy more to say, unfortunately, there’s no room for it… Bummer HUGE problem….
