The Blink Charging mobile app enables electric vehicle owners to locate, activate, and pay for charging sessions across Blink's network. Designed for both public and home charging scenarios with station photos and real-time status updates.

Detailed Review

The Blink Charging mobile app serves as the primary interface for electric vehicle owners utilizing Blink Network's charging infrastructure. Positioned in the competitive EV charging market, the application aims to streamline the process of locating, activating, and managing charging sessions through a unified mobile platform. The app addresses core needs of EV drivers seeking reliable public charging options and home charging management. Core functionality centers around station discovery with multiple search parameters including zip code, city, business name, category, or physical address. The platform provides detailed location information including photographs of charging stations, which assists users in identifying specific units before arrival. Users can view real-time status updates showing charger availability and operational state, though this feature's reliability varies across the network. The integrated payment system allows for pre-loading funds and contactless session initiation through QR code scanning at compatible stations. User experience demonstrates a straightforward interface with clear navigation to primary functions. The station mapping interface provides adequate geographical context, though some users report challenges in precisely identifying which specific charger unit corresponds to the app's display. The charging initiation process requires scanning barcodes on physical units, which multiple users describe as occasionally problematic. Real-world usage patterns show most users employ the app for both planned charging sessions at familiar locations and emergency searches for available stations during trips. User feedback reveals significant polarization in experiences. Positive reviews from users like Chrisp5683 (July 11, 2025) note that "the process is super quick and easy" when selecting correctly identified functional stations. Conversely, user *D*V* (July 20, 2025) reports consistent reliability issues, stating "I dread having to use a blink station. Sometimes they work sometimes they don't." The app maintains a 4.09 rating despite these contradictory experiences, suggesting situational dependency on local infrastructure quality. The application's primary strength lies in its comprehensive network coverage and straightforward payment system, while its most significant limitation involves inconsistent reliability reporting across different charging locations. Ideal use cases include urban EV owners with regular access to multiple Blink stations, where users can develop familiarity with specific reliable locations. The app serves best as a supplemental charging solution rather than primary reliance for long-distance travel where charging certainty is critical.

I just brought a Nissan leaf 2015 I’m so great full for the blink charger’s They really help me. At first it was hard. I’m not gonna lie. I plug the car and hand too scan the barcode. Then sit in the car look at the app. It said location what charger it was I pressed on the one that I thought I was in. Then I press start on my phone. And I made it. It was a pretty fast charger to be honest. There’s four of them, but only three of them were working . I downloaded the Blink app ahead of time, and pre-loaded it with $40. As long as you select a charger that is “ready for charging” (and not “offline”), and select the correct port within the app, the process is super quick and easy. Charge rate of $0.50/kWh was reasonable given what Superchargers are charging these days. Overall very happy with the experience!
