Hi BitLife Team, I wanted to take a moment to share a suggestion that Iāand many longtime playersāhave been hoping to see added to the game! Itās a family-based update that expands on the relationship system, something players have been requesting for years. I believe it would add depth, realism, and excitement to the game. š The Core Idea: Expanded Family Tree Introduce extended family members into the game, including:Hi BitLife Team, I wanted to take a moment to share a suggestion that Iāand many longtime playersāhave been hoping to see added to the game! This would take BitLifeās storytelling d Grandparents Uncles and Aunts Cousins Siblings-in-law Children-in-law Nieces and Nephews š§© More Than Just Family Members: New Interactions, Traits & Identity This update could also introduce a range of new family interactions and activities, such as: Family reunions Cousin sleepovers Generational bonding (e.g., spend time with a grandparent and gain wisdom) Sibling rivalry events, joint vacations, etc. In addition, it would be exciting to see characters have defined personality traits (e.g., kind, jealous, goofy), religions, and even family values that shape how they interact with others. This would take BitLifeās storytelling depth to a whole new level. š® As a Player Who Blends BitLife with The Sims I just want to say ā I love BitLife, and I also love integrating it into other games, especially The Sims 4. I often do āBitLife controls my Simsā challenges and use BitLife-generated families, careers, and events as story prompts for The Sims. So for players like me, expanding the family structure in BitLife would greatly enhance storytelling and immersion, especially when building out full family legacies across generations. It would be a meaningful addition for both BitLife-only players and hybrid players who enjoy creating narratives across games. š How It Would Work: 1. Starting a Life: When a new BitLife begins, the character may start with one or two parents and a possible older sibling. I also suggest expanding this so you can start with multiple older siblings. 2. New Tab: āExtended Familyā At the bottom of the Relationships section (similar to the Lovers or Exes tabs), there could be a new Extended Family tab. Once selected, it would be split into: Fatherās Side Motherās Side (If the character only has one parent, only that side would appear.) Each side would include: Grandparents (with names, ages, and interactions) Uncles and Aunts (same treatment) Cousins (who age over time and grow in number just like siblings) For example, your character might be born with up to seven or more older cousins, such as: Age 7 Age 4 Age 2 And just like younger siblings, more cousins could be born as your character ages. Some Bitizens may not have any cousins, and thatās okay tooāit all depends on family structure. Players could interact with cousins just like siblingsāspending time, insulting, complimenting, building relationships, etc. Additionally, as cousins grow up, some of them could get married or have children. While we wouldnāt need to see or interact with those spouses or kids directly, it would be nice if their names appearedājust to reflect the evolving family structure and make the world feel more alive. If any extended family members die, their names would move to a āLateā section within the corresponding family tab. š Heir/Legacy Continuity ā Keep Extended Family Currently, when your main character dies and you pass the game to the next generation (e.g., playing as their child), it seems that the extended family disappears. With this update, extended family should carry over into the next generation, including: Any living relatives still active Any who have passed away (moved to āLateā section) This would keep legacy gameplay intact and more immersive, especially for players who enjoy building multi-generational family stories. š Siblings-in-Law & Children-in-Law A new section could appear just under the existing Siblings and Children tabs. If your sibling gets married, a "Siblings-in-law" tab appears with info and interactions. If your child gets married, a "Children-in-law" tab appears as well. These in-laws would age, have full interaction menus, and disappear if divorcedājust like stepparents. If an in-law dies, they would appear in the āLateā category of their tab. ā Why This Update Would Be Great: Adds realism and immersion to family dynamics Makes multi-generational gameplay more consistent Encourages deeper roleplay and storytelling Supports hybrid gameplay (e.g., BitLife The Sims) Fulfills a long-requested fan feature Helps boost player retention and community creativity Iāve been playing BitLife since 2019, and I really care about the gameās future. I know that many other fans would love this tooāit could breathe fresh energy into the game and reignite interest across casual and longtime players. Iāve also attached screenshots below that show what other BitLife fans have been requesting over the years. Thank you so much for reading this. Iād love to hear your thoughts!
