Windy.com: WEATHER FORECAST

USA weather cuts has me worried about the future trust and reliability of USA data. Looked at this app again. Free and no ads. No fan of complexity but this has complexity in an easy to understand and use way, thats awesome. Lots of layers and data. No lockscreen alerts for watches and warning. Default to non-USA centric and global multi-countries funded model is a huge plus. My phone has WEA. A KP Index map layer would be nice (7-9 can cause power outages, solar weather not many apps thing).

If you are a weather buff this is a good app to have for augmenting local weather apps. The ability to see winds not only at the surface but at altitude really gives a good picture of the weather. It doesn't substitute for an aviation weather brief but it's nice to check before flying.

After using it for 2 days, this app seems very accurate compared to other popular similar apps. The only drawback is the 1-hour update interval. Hopefully, in the future, there will be an option for minute-by-minute updates like other apps out there. Overall, it’s excellent. A minor complaint: The current position marker (blue dot) sometimes disappears or stops showing after panning around or using other features. Also, the (+) position marker is white and thin, making it hard to see.

This is my fourth review to promote this app. It has more useful features than any weather site I have yet found. And that's just the free stuff. Here's another addendum. The doppler radar images are nearly as good as any of the local weather stations around Tulsa. Tulsa and Oklahoma City, along with Fayetteville, Arkansas, have the best and most reliable weather spotter stations that I have seen. I use Windy because it is available when television is not.

Very useful app. The wind map is most informative, and with the slidable time/day button on the lower part of the screen, it's easy to see what weather to expect before venturing out. * * * * * * Update! Giving it six stars now because it's great to use on my Galaxy Watch6. The Tile for the watch can even show a readable weather map. Dam good.
