Watch Duty: Wildfire Alerts

The Best Fire Information App I've seen! I live in fire country and want to know if there is a fire near me. I have many other pages and apps. online, that I usually check to stay ready and informed. However, this app is absolutely by far the very best! Also, they are ALWAYS the first to notify me of fire related activity, with blow by blow announcements of what is happening. Thank you for Watch Duty, I feel much safer having you on my side.

One of the best of many I've tried. ---Pros--- User friendly, well organized, most up-to-date fire info (other apps/websites lag badly in comparison), developers seem to have real purpose and interest in community safety. ---Wishes--- Different or choosable theme color (not liking yellow), access to recent images of fires, weather radar layer and forecast so I can see what may affect fires, fire danger level layer (overlay with color zones), layers can toggle on/off, weather/fire info widget.

What a neat app, useful and easy to use. I want to thank the people who keep this app going and the people who submit pictures.

Sometimes a bit slow to load but it's the best source for up-to-date information on wildfires in Northern California. BUT... Update June 12 2025: the Watch Duty app began locking up my phone (LG Rebel 4) when I accessed it. I had to remove the battery and reinstall it to get my phone to even turn on. I uninstalled Watch Duty intending to reinstall it but Play Store says that I cannot.

Excellent app overall. Very prompt and great at keeping me updated on local fires or in other areas I chose to look at. This app is so much better than trying to figure out fire info through Google searches or the official CalFire incidents website. Good job and thank you 👍
