Detailed Review

Understood: Support ADHD Kids represents a specialized behavioral tracking application designed specifically for parents and caregivers of neurodiverse children. Developed by Understood for All, Inc., the app occupies a unique position in the mental health technology market by focusing exclusively on ADHD and related neurodevelopmental conditions. Its foundation in psychological principles distinguishes it from general parenting apps, offering targeted support for families navigating complex behavioral patterns. The application's core functionality centers around comprehensive behavior tracking, utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) frameworks to document emotional episodes, triggers, and responses. Parents can log challenging behaviors, track patterns over time, and generate detailed reports for healthcare providers. The platform integrates professional resources including articles from psychologists, expert Q&A capabilities, and evidence-based intervention strategies. These features work collectively to create a structured approach to understanding and managing neurodiverse behaviors through data-driven insights. User experience demonstrates thoughtful design with an intuitive interface that prioritizes accessibility during emotionally charged situations. The tracking system allows for quick logging of incidents while maintaining detailed records for later analysis. Real-world usage patterns show parents primarily utilizing the app during behavioral episodes for immediate logging and between episodes for pattern recognition and professional consultation. The reporting functionality proves particularly valuable for clinical appointments, as noted by multiple users who share data directly with healthcare providers. User feedback trends indicate strong satisfaction with the app's specialized approach, though some technical issues have been reported. Sandra Lemon's January 2024 review noted initial setup difficulties that were subsequently resolved by customer support, demonstrating the developer's responsiveness. Lana Marie's November 2024 review highlights the app's effectiveness in tracking behavioral patterns for clinical purposes, while Christina Fleharty's October 2023 review emphasizes the value of free expert resources. Multiple reviewers, including Scarlett Beaumont, praise the interface design and dual utility for both neurodiverse individuals and their support networks. The application demonstrates significant strengths in its evidence-based methodology and specialized resource library, though some users report occasional technical glitches during initial setup. Its most effective use cases involve parents seeking structured behavioral tracking for clinical collaboration and those requiring expert guidance beyond general parenting advice. The free access model combined with professional-grade resources makes it particularly valuable for families navigating diagnostic processes or ongoing behavioral management strategies.

This app is still new to me. I signed up a couple weeks ago, and already I appreciate the articles, suggestions from professionals, and support from other parents who know exactly what I'm going through as a mother of a gifted child carrying the challenges of neurodiversity. The app is straightforward, simple, and tailored to suggest the perfect articles for my specific needs.

My 12 year old is in the process of getting screened for some mental health issues and behaviors that are quickly becoming a problem. This app has helped with tracking his ups and downs so well that all I have to do is share the info on my app with his doctor and psychologist. This app is amazing it's a light in the dark for me as a single recovering addict just trying to help her son before he ends up in the same crowd that I was in. Thank you for making it simple

I'm on the spectrum. Not only does this app help me personally, but I can't wait to show my mom, so she may receive support in coping with me. Couldn't ask for a better UI/UX either.
