Spark Driver App Review: Comprehensive Analysis of Walmart's Delivery Platform

Walmart's Spark Driver app enables independent contractors to deliver orders from Walmart and partner businesses. The platform offers flexible scheduling and shopping/delivery opportunities for those with vehicles and smartphones.

Detailed Review

Spark Driver represents Walmart's entry into the gig economy delivery space, positioning itself as a platform connecting independent contractors with local delivery opportunities from Walmart stores and partner businesses. The app serves as a marketplace for last-mile delivery services, competing with established players like DoorDash and Instacart while leveraging Walmart's extensive retail footprint. The application's core functionality centers around order management, navigation, and payment processing. Drivers receive order notifications, navigate to store locations, manage shopping lists when applicable, and complete delivery workflows through the app's interface. The platform incorporates real-time mapping, order tracking, and digital signature capture for proof of delivery. Payment processing occurs through the app, with earnings calculated based on delivery complexity, distance, and potential incentives. User experience varies depending on device capabilities and network conditions. The interface follows standard delivery app conventions with clear order cards, mapping integration, and step-by-step delivery instructions. However, performance issues have been reported during critical moments such as order scanning at delivery points. The app requires constant location access and data connectivity, which can impact battery life and data usage during extended delivery shifts. User feedback indicates generally positive experiences with notable technical concerns. Jackie's July 2025 review highlights recurring app freezing issues during delivery completion, creating awkward customer interactions. Jessie Henley's July 2025 feedback notes compliance challenges with California's hands-free laws due to constant notifications. The Bluemoonlake's July 2025 review raises concerns about payment timing reliability, particularly for drivers depending on immediate income. These reviews suggest while the core functionality works adequately, stability and timing issues affect user satisfaction. The platform offers legitimate earning opportunities with significant flexibility advantages, but faces challenges regarding technical reliability and payment consistency. Ideal for individuals seeking supplemental income with vehicle access, though those depending exclusively on the platform for livelihood may encounter financial planning difficulties due to payment timing variability and occasional technical disruptions.

Had 3 orders total and 14.5 miles total for all 3 trips. 1st trip was alone was 25 miles, 2nd trip was 29 miles. called support, said he will send this to technical support. I asked for their number and he gave me a number for a casino, I entered it correctly cause I asked for 6 times purposely. I was halfway to my 2nd stop and they canceled them. Said technical support would adjust my earnings. They gave a 2 dollar bump for a 50 mile round trip totaling $11..man was i mad

i love being a spark driver! idk how hard it would be to do, but it would be AWESOME if we could see the isle number on the shopping list page instead of having to click on the item to see it. ♡♡♡♡

I've been with spark I believe over a year and a half now and I've been able to get caught up on my bills and pay some off!! so it has truly helped me a great deal 😄 I was recently blessed with a minivan so I turned it into a delivery van with two large long ice chest in there for the cold and Frozen groceries and two small ones. I find the best gas deals at buc-ee's for right now in Texas City Texas it is $2.29 a gallon and I buy 2 large bags of ice every morning for a $1.99 ea.
