Simply the best finances tracking app there is. I tried mint before and was always frustrated how difficult it was to have it spot out the information I wanted from it. Monarch is very customizable, easy to use, thorough, and beautifully designed. Monarch is the first finance app that I have been happy to use and actually find useful. Would recommend!
Monarch makes it very easy to see all your accounts in one place. I've never had such a complete picture of my finances. Automating things like pulling real estate values from Zillow or estimating vehicle value based on VIN is super convenient and of course you get to track that data over time. it could probably use a better tutorial to teach you how to deal with some common items like categorizing transactions for debt payments where you are tracking both accounts.
I really like Monarch but on two separate occasions I've discovered numerous missing transactions. Deleting and relinking the accounts fixed the issues temporarily, but that's a deal breaker for me. I haven't had that issue with another (significantly less expensive) app. Even if it means I'll have slightly less granularity in certain aspects of that other app as compared to Monarch, at least I'll have all transactions imported properly.
Originally on Mint, then tried Quicken Simplifi. Switched to Monarch because they support Canadian accounts. Staying because I do think it's better. Connects to more of my accounts (like Amex savings, which Simplifi refused to) and all the connections are much more reliable. Love the reports and ease of use. Only thing Simplifi has that I wish this had is low account balance warnings. BUT it has only improved since I arrived... like the Amazon extension, which is awesome.
I have been enjoying this app for three months now. It has shown me the categories I need to cut back in and it has helped me set savings goals. I appreciate the past analysis of previous years to show me how much I saved in a percent form so I could save a higher percent this year. It's good for setting goals and it has helped me be more intentional with my money.
