Messenger: Connect

Alright, so Messenger. It took me a few days to figure out all the features, but once you get the hang of it, it's actually quite useful. It's a free messaging app that lets you connect with, well, just about anyone. You can chat and call folks on Facebook and Messenger, no phone number needed, which is handy. My students showed me this trick where you can scan QR codes to add new connections – why do they hide the settings button there? You can send photos in high definition, create shared albums (think family reunions, school events), and even share large files directly in the chat. It's like having a teaching assistant in your pocket, helping you organize and share information. Plus, you can edit and unsend messages (thank goodness for that!), and even set disappearing messages. They even have an AI assistant now, which is something else. You can also express yourself with animated stickers and GIFs, and customize your chats with themes. It's a pretty comprehensive communication tool, even for an old-timer like me. Makes staying in touch easier, that's for sure. I use it to chat with parents about school events and assignments. It's a great way to connect. The file sharing is great for sending documents. I even use it to share photos of student projects.
