it's great! but i have a few problems with the app that i wish would be fixed. first, the app crashes and takes me back to my observations after i've been scrolling through others observations for a while. second, the map search area is slightly offset to the left. For example, search in the area "Thiruvananthapuram, KL, IN". you'll see that the area is slightly offset to the left from the actual borders on the map. pls fix. thank u
I've been using this app for years now. It's a fantastic way of uploading observations and starting the identification process. The app itself is not geared towards assisting with idenifying other people's observations, which is annoying. At times (more recently) the app has difficulties loading and I may have to wait longer than usual to access what I want. It would be nice if I had the option to download my images from the app.
The app works excellently for uploading observations, quick ID of my own obs, and exploring local area specific observations. However it doesn't really work for id'ing others obs. I find it's quite buggy for this, Often the ID's selected don't save. Which is a pity because I would love to help ID others obs on my morning commute.
great for identifying plants and animals. i mostly use it for bugs. its also fun to help other people identify things. plus, you get to help researchers and scientists in the process. i love you inaturalist
I think iNaturalist is the most powerful tool for conservation that the community has ever had. The ease of use, extraction and filtration of data, accuracy,, mapping and other features give researchers and members of the community access to information about species and topics, and the ability to collate and present information, in ways they never could before. In Australia the CSIRO and the Atlas of Living Australia (ALA) are involved, and research grade data feeds into the ALA.
