Foodvisor provides AI-powered food recognition and personalized nutrition planning through photo analysis. The app targets health-conscious users seeking simplified calorie tracking with visual food logging capabilities.

Detailed Review

Foodvisor positions itself as an AI-driven nutrition assistant that simplifies calorie counting through photographic food recognition technology. The application combines machine learning algorithms with nutritional databases to provide instant calorie estimates and macronutrient breakdowns from food photographs, eliminating traditional manual entry barriers. The core functionality centers around its image recognition system, which automatically identifies foods and estimates portion sizes from user-submitted photos. This is complemented by personalized daily calorie targets based on user profiles and goals, detailed nutrient tracking including micronutrients, and progress monitoring through visual charts and weekly reports. The system incorporates a growing food database with both recognized items and user-contributed entries, though accuracy varies depending on photographic quality and food complexity. User experience demonstrates a clean, visually-oriented interface with intuitive navigation and cartoon-style illustrations that make nutritional tracking feel less clinical. Real-world usage patterns show most users rely primarily on the photo feature for main meals while occasionally needing manual adjustments for snacks or beverages. The app's design prioritizes quick logging over detailed customization, which streamlines the process but limits precision for specific dietary needs. User feedback trends indicate strong satisfaction with the visual approach to food tracking, though several reviews highlight persistent limitations. Pam Johnston (2025-08-17) noted the inability to adjust quantities significantly impacts usefulness, while Frank Sevill (2025-08-03) requested manual calorie entry options. Recent updates appear to have addressed some concerns, as MrRooter forthewin (2025-08-18) observed improvements in correcting inaccurate food submissions. Multiple users reported substantial weight loss success, though Sara Ramadoro (2025-08-10) raised concerns about meal-skipping encouragement and micronutrient visualization clarity. The application excels at making calorie tracking accessible through its photographic interface and attractive design, particularly for users comfortable with estimating rather than precisely measuring food intake. However, the lack of granular quantity adjustments and manual entry options limits its effectiveness for users requiring exact nutritional data. Foodvisor works best for individuals seeking general dietary awareness rather than medical or precision nutritional management, with its AI recognition performing strongest on common, clearly-photographed foods in typical serving presentations.

im down 44.7lbs as of right now in 72 days. I dont think it would be possible without tracking calories. "really my only issue is when people submit food wrong. you can take time to manually enter and fix it, but it seems to never change." -seems like this got changed recently very good! i changed to incorrect protein on an item and it was changed right away for me. the weight loss speed would not possible without exercise. i went with 1800-2000 cal instead of 2200 like suggested. 👍

This app helps me track protein goals while not eating excessive calories. It's all diet- I literally kept the same progressive workout routine but tweaked my diet, then the weight flew off.

Short classes fit my life. Excellent visuals for understanding what macros to target to meet your goals. I think it's worth the fee and I will probably keep using it even after I've succeeded, to stay on track.
