Detailed Review

Disney Twisted-Wonderland presents an unconventional take on the Disney universe, developed by Aniplex with character designs from Black Butler creator Yana Toboso. The game transports players to Night Raven College, a magical academy populated by students inspired by Disney villains rather than heroes. This positioning creates a unique niche within mobile gaming, blending familiar Disney quality with darker thematic elements uncommon for the brand. Core gameplay revolves around visual novel storytelling segments interrupted by rhythm-game inspired combat sequences. Players collect and upgrade character cards representing students from different dormitories, each with distinct personalities and combat specialties. The battle system requires strategic card selection and timing-based inputs during magical duels. Between story chapters, players engage in training sessions called Lessons to level up characters and gather resources for progression. The game's extensive main story unfolds across multiple chapters called 'books,' with regular events adding supplemental narratives. Navigation uses a straightforward hub system where players access different game modes from a central school menu. The interface maintains clarity despite multiple progression systems, though some menu diving is required for character management. Real-world play sessions typically involve completing daily tasks, progressing through story chapters, and participating in limited-time events for exclusive rewards. The energy system gates continuous play, encouraging shorter daily sessions rather than extended gaming marathons. User feedback highlights the game's exceptional production values, particularly its animated sequences and vocal performances. Reviews indicate the English localization maintains the original Japanese voice cast while providing quality subtitle translations. Some players note the gacha system for obtaining new characters can require patience for free-to-play users, though regular login bonuses help mitigate this. The combat system receives mixed responses, with some appreciating its simplicity while others desire more strategic depth in later game stages. Overall, Disney Twisted-Wonderland succeeds as a polished mobile RPG with strong narrative appeal. The game's distinctive aesthetic and character-driven storytelling create lasting engagement, though the progression systems may feel restrictive for players accustomed to more generous gacha mechanics. The balance between visual novel elements and light RPG systems works well for mobile play sessions, making it particularly suitable for commuters or those preferring story-focused gaming experiences.

Played this for a year now and it's really good for something made by Disney. All the characters are are unique in personally and design, and so are the story and events. The card art is really pretty and made me get a gambling addiction. Character interactions are always interesting and fun. I just got a new phone and it was really easy to transfer data, but it did take a while. Really recommend if you're looking for an game where you can somewhat interact with characters.

the artwork and graphics are absolutely beautiful in this game. I love how relatable the characters can be for everyone. the stories and fun events keep me coming back time after time and I've been playing this game since sometime around its release back in 2021...I have not stopped playing. I will say that I have been stuck, though on chapter 7 or is it 6... there is a mini game within the story that Vil's character has to play, like a shooter simulator game( shooting asteroids). I suck at that

there are no ads, and you're not pressured to spend money. the characters are well designed, the visuals stunning, and the story immersive. there are also plenty of gamemodes and events to keep things from getting boring. though one downside is that it's harder to get rare cards in this game, the SSR rate is pretty good. the story is surprisingly lore-heavy and deep for a disney game. props to the devs!

5 stars. This game is honestly one of the best I've ever played when it comes to gacha and battle games. Along with nice gameplay the story is just perfect. My only complaint is leveling to continue the story but even then it can be fun to wacth your boys do lessons. Another thing I'd like to add is the gacha system is MEAN 😭 but other than that this game is amazing. I recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I've seen this game way before it got English translation when I was visiting the JP site. though I couldn't understand anything, all I know was the visuals are wonderful and I like the premise of Disney and anime lol. also I noticed that the animator kinda have the same style as Black Butler, which was apparent in Jade, lo and behold they were the one to animate the game haha. It does take phone space and there are in-game purchases but the game is worth playing💜💜💜
