Detailed Review

Destiny: Rising marks the franchise's mobile debut, positioning itself as a premium sci-fi shooter that challenges conventional mobile gaming expectations. Developed by Exptional Global, the application brings the Destiny universe's signature combat and lore to Android devices with surprising technical accomplishment, offering both first-person and third-person gameplay perspectives that were previously exclusive to console and PC platforms. The core gameplay revolves around precision shooting mechanics that support both touchscreen controls and external controller compatibility. Players select from unique character classes with specialized abilities, engaging in campaign missions that serve as a narrative prequel to existing Destiny titles. The game features multiple combat modes including story-driven missions, cooperative challenges, and competitive multiplayer options, all rendered with high-quality visual effects that push mobile hardware capabilities while maintaining stable performance across supported devices. User experience demonstrates thoughtful mobile adaptation, with customizable control schemes and interface scaling options that accommodate various screen sizes. The game employs a progressive download system to manage its substantial asset size, though initial installation requires significant storage allocation. Real-world usage patterns show sessions typically lasting 20-45 minutes, with the option for shorter engagement through bite-sized mission structures or extended play through deeper progression systems. User feedback consistently praises the game's technical achievement and narrative value, with Alistair Kitching (2025-09-03) noting it's 'a great edition to destiny universe' while Jim Shugart (2025-09-03) observed it 'could have easily sold as a full fledged console game.' Some critiques mention aggressive monetization systems, as Taz Hall (2025-09-03) suggested developers 'slow down on the gotcha,' though these concerns appear secondary to overall satisfaction given the 4.7/5 rating. The application demonstrates remarkable technical achievement in mobile game porting but faces challenges regarding storage requirements and monetization balance. Its strengths lie in authentic franchise integration and flexible gameplay options, while limitations include hardware demands and potential paywall frustrations. Ideal for dedicated Destiny enthusiasts seeking portable engagement and mobile gamers wanting console-quality shooting experiences.

great game. highly recommend with controller over touch, IMO its destiny, and thats it. Wonderful, plays great, plenty to do and all fun as hell. I fell of after D2 went down the drain, but this is game has everything what made me love destiny in the 1st place. yes it is gatcha, which is usually a massive turn off for me, but so far I have all but 2 characters and all I have out on this game is 99p for a cosmetic for all guns. play it.

Such a great game, the character stories especially have been amazing thus far and long time destiny fans will appreciate this for sure. Devs, you have to put more promotional material out for this because it could be so much more successful.
