Dark Night Color by Numbers offers a horror-themed digital coloring experience with intricate designs. The app targets adults seeking relaxation through macabre artwork, featuring vampires, skeletons, and supernatural elements.

Detailed Review

Dark Night Color by Numbers by BrainArt Studio presents a specialized take on the color-by-numbers genre, focusing exclusively on horror and supernatural themes. The Android application distinguishes itself through its consistent aesthetic commitment to dark fantasy elements, positioning it as a niche product within the broader coloring app market. The developer maintains a cohesive visual identity across all content, avoiding the generic or disjointed collections common in similar applications. The core functionality follows standard color-by-numbers mechanics but executes them with particular attention to horror-themed detailing. Users receive numbered templates featuring vampires, skeletons, demons, and other macabre imagery, with a color palette emphasizing deep reds, blacks, purples, and other atmospheric tones. The application includes progressive difficulty levels, with simpler designs for beginners and highly complex patterns for experienced users. A notable feature is the gradual content rollout system, where new images are added periodically rather than in overwhelming batches, ensuring quality control and sustained engagement. User experience benefits from a clean, intuitive interface that minimizes distractions from the coloring process. The canvas area dominates the screen with clearly visible numbers and responsive touch controls. Real-world usage patterns show the app primarily serves as a stress-relief tool during evening hours, with many users reporting 15-30 minute sessions. The dark-themed UI reduces eye strain in low-light conditions, though some users note challenges with very small numbering on complex designs. The zoom functionality helps mitigate this issue, but requires frequent adjustment during detailed work. User feedback trends reveal generally positive sentiment with specific technical concerns. Multiple reviewers including Trista DeWilde (June 14, 2025) report persistent advertising issues despite purchasing premium ad-free versions, indicating potential payment processing or implementation flaws. However, Rick Scorpio (July 17, 2025) praises the accurate representation of advertised content and quality assurance in new image releases. Crystal Patton (July 5, 2025) notes responsive customer service that addressed technical issues, though initially encountered problems with image completion functionality. The application demonstrates strengths in thematic consistency and content quality but faces challenges in technical execution. Its primary value lies in offering a cohesive horror-themed coloring experience unavailable in more generic competitors. However, the advertising system implementation requires improvement based on multiple user reports. Ideal use cases include adults seeking meditation through macabre artistry, horror enthusiasts looking for engaging content, and users preferring darker aesthetics over traditional bright coloring apps. The gradual content addition strategy successfully maintains long-term engagement but may frustrate users seeking immediate access to large libraries.

first one I found that actually has the pictures of the ones they advertise. so far I like every one of them. and the new pictures come gradually not tons at a time period because they take time to make sure they look nice. change my review to 5/5. they have unmatched customer service play not expect from a simple app as a coloring book

Edit: Works perfectly now. And just today I saw a good female reaper! I love the pics, but I would like to see a female from reaper and not one that looks like she died during a bondage session. It won't finalize the picture. I can't do anything at all. I have to exit out of the app and then the pic is still in progress. I've finished the same one repeatedly and it never finalizes.
