For anyone who wants a clean, focused way to log their reading habits, Bookmory offers a straightforward solution. This app centers on letting users catalog books, track progress, and set reading goals with minimal distraction. It’s a practical tool for readers who prioritize data and simplicity over social features.

Detailed Review

In a category crowded with social networks and complex book databases, Bookmory by Tony soft distinguishes itself by focusing on core tracking functionalities. The app positions itself as a personal reading journal for Android, foregoing community forums and recommendation algorithms to provide a dedicated space for individual reading statistics and history. It appeals specifically to users who find larger platforms overwhelming and seek a quieter, more intentional logging experience. The core functionality revolves around manually building a library. Users can search for and add books by title, author, or ISBN, then categorize them into custom shelves like 'Currently Reading,' 'Want to Read,' and 'Finished.' A central feature is the progress tracker, which allows for updating the current page or percentage read, with the app generating simple statistics like total books completed and pages read over time. The goal-setting feature lets users define annual or custom reading targets, providing a visual progress bar for motivation. While it lacks automated imports from services like Goodreads, this manual approach ensures data control. In real-world usage, the interface presents a clean, calendar-centric view where reading activity can be logged daily. This is particularly useful for participants in reading challenges or individuals aiming to establish a consistent habit. A user finishing a chapter can quickly open the app, update their page count, and see their daily streak maintained. The absence of push notifications or social alerts contributes to an undistracted experience, though some may find the lack of reminders a downside for habit formation. The design is functional, with a slight learning curve for discovering where to edit reading dates or add custom book covers manually. As a newer app with no published reviews, potential advantages and drawbacks are extrapolated from its feature set and market position. Typically, apps in this niche receive feedback praising focused design and data ownership. Conversely, users often request integrations for barcode scanning or CSV export for backups. A common point of critique for similar minimalist trackers is the manual entry process, which can become tedious for users with large existing libraries to port over. Performance is generally reported as stable, with rare mentions of syncing delays on very old devices. Overall, Bookmory presents a balanced proposition. Its strength lies in its singular purpose and respectful approach to user attention, making it a compelling choice for data-oriented readers. The trade-off is a lack of connective features and some manual overhead. For readers seeking a digital replacement for a notebook reading journal, it is a competent and unobtrusive option. Those requiring extensive social interaction or automated data syncing may need to look elsewhere.

I've been using Bookmory for 2 years, at this point? The absolute best in recording and tracking my reading library. I love seeing my yearly goal get SMASHED in percentages, and even as a free user, there's a decent amount of customization to be had. Ads are infrequent (maybe once every 10 - 15 times I've opened the app, which is incredible). Edit: I want to mention that it would be cool to offer a one time $20 to 35 fee for premium rather than a subscription, and to add in reading challenges.

Update: 12/27/25 - still loving this app, and they've made more updates for an even better experience. Some of my favorites (old and new features) include: -Easy to use interface -Calendar view with books read each day - Reading streaks - Lookup by title, author, or ISBN - Tags & categories - Pacing of reading based on times and pages read I upgraded to paid to support the developer. Unpaid has same features with minimal unobtrusive ads.♥️ Great app with great free (yes, really!) features!

It's easy to use. Feature to measure reading speed is good. This has rewind in the end of the year also. I hope that this app can support more languages (I'm from Vietnam), and have widgets to display on mobile in the future.
